From passion to chocolate bar
Our Story
Flavie & Michel, founders of Chocorico

Matagalpa, Nicaragua
How it all began
It all started on a trip to Nicaragua, when Flavie and Michel discovered the cacao plantations of Matagalpa. Captivated by the aromatic richness of the Criollo and Trinitario varieties grown in this exceptional volcanic region, they knew they had to share this discovery with the world.
Back in France, they left everything behind to dedicate themselves entirely to their passion: creating artisan chocolates of exceptional quality, mastering every step of the process — from selecting the beans to the final bar.

The Origin
We source our Criollo and Trinitario beans directly from farmers in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. A relationship built on trust that guarantees exceptional cacao with every harvest.

The Craft
From roasting to moulding, every step is carried out by hand in our workshop. We control the entire process to deliver chocolate of uncompromising quality.

The Purity
Our bars contain only the essentials: cacao, unrefined cane sugar, sometimes milk. No lecithin, no artificial flavours. Purity as a philosophy.

The Commitment
Direct and fair trade, because behind every bean stands a farmer. We are committed to fair compensation and full traceability — from the plantation to your bar.

Why Chocorico?
The name Chocorico was born from the fusion of two words: Chocolat and Rico (delicious in Spanish). That is exactly what we want to offer you — a delicious, authentic chocolate that pays tribute to the origins of the cacao bean.
Our commitment is simple: no compromises on quality. We work directly with growers in Matagalpa, ensuring full traceability and fair compensation for those who cultivate this exceptional cacao.
